Obzor is a resort village located in a bay 65 km south of Varna and 60 km north of Burgas. The air temperature here in summer is +23 ... + 28, and the water temperature is +23 ... + 25. Obzor has good wide beaches with fine golden sand. The sea near the shore is shallow, which is great for relaxing with small children. Along the edges of the bay, the shores are rocky. The Stara Planina mountain range descends directly to the sea, and the beaches are adjacent to forests.
Once there was a Greek settlement of Heliopolis ("City of the Sun"). And in the era of the Roman Empire, this place was the residence of the Roman emperors. Later, during the time of Turkish slavery, the village was called Güzla ("beautiful"), and in the 16th century it was called Gezeke ("view", "beautiful view"). Since 1929, the village gradually began to acquire features of a resort. Modern Obzor is 2-by-3-story buildings of the end of the 20th century, diluted with modern hotels along the beach strip.
