Kazbegi is a high-altitude climatic resort in Georgia. The terrain is mountainous, rocky and difficult to access. A lot of snow falls in winter. Spring is moderately warm. In this region is Mkinvartsveri mountain (ice peak), better known in Russian-speaking countries under the name Kazbek. The height of the peak of Kazbek is 5,033 m.
The center of Kazbegi is the village of Stepantsminda, located at the foot of Mount Kazbek, at an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level. Nearby is one of the best ski resorts in Georgia - Gudauri. In addition to the stunning mountain nature, among the sights of Kazbegi, the Herget Trinity Church, built in the 14th century at an altitude of 2,200 m, should first of all be mentioned. The complex includes the Holy Trinity Cathedral, built in the 30s of the 14th century, a bell tower 2- half of the 14th century and residential premises of the 15th century.
