Pula may be a relatively unexplored gem for most modern travelers.
Rich in Roman architecture, Pula is home to a beautifully preserved Roman amphitheater in the heart of the city, which dominates the streetscape and serves as a venue for summer concerts and festivals.
In addition to its historical attractions, Pula is a bustling commercial seaside town that has managed to retain its small-town appeal. In just a few minutes by bus, you will be greeted by the beaches of the resorts that occupy the Verudela Peninsula in the south.
Although the coast has many residential and resort complexes, it is dotted with fragrant pine groves, seaside cafes and many good restaurants.
Pula is also a good starting point for exploring the protected nature park of Cape Kamenjak in the south and the Briony Islands National Park in the north.
