Zaton is a settlement hidden in a picturesque and well-guarded bay, located just 8 km north of Dubrovnik. The settlement consists of two villages: Velikiy Zaton and Mali Zaton. Zaton was a place of rest. Almost every noble Dubrovnik family had a dacha built in Zaton. Although many of these beautiful Renaissance buildings were destroyed during the Serbian aggression, some of them have been preserved or restored. Today, they are an important part of Zaton's tourist offer.
