Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus, a large seaport and the largest wine-making center of the island. The settlements of the current Limassol appeared before our era. The prosperity of the city is connected with the arrival of the Crusaders here in 1191. Richard the Lionheart came to Limassol in search of his beloved Beringaria of Navarre, and then married her there.
