Kassandra is an island known for its beaches. It is located in the region of Halkidiki in eastern Greece and is separated from the mainland by the ancient channel of Nea Potidea. On the north-eastern coast in the village of Afitos rises the church of St. Dimitri with a dome and a bell tower. Also worthy of attention is the Folklore Museum, located in a traditional stone house, where ceramic products and agricultural tools are presented. In the north, in the city of Nea Phokea, a Byzantine watchtower from the 15th century has been preserved.
Kassandra is a paradise of unsurpassed natural beauty, clear blue sea, beaches awarded with the "blue flag", beautiful forests, historical heritage, ancient and Byzantine monuments, traditional villages and modern tourist attractions.
Kassandra differs from other regions of Halkidiki in its developed tourist infrastructure. On its territory there are large hotel complexes and villas, small family hotels and apartments, supermarkets, shops, cafe-bars, traditional Greek taverns, night clubs, discos and other entertainment.
