Isthymia (from the Greek "isthmos" - isthmus) is a small resort village located on a narrow isthmus connecting mainland Greece and the Peloponnese peninsula. Thanks to this, it can be said that the vacation in Isthmia takes place on two seas - the Aegean and the Ionian, the beaches of which - one is better than the other. Isthymia is famous for the fact that in ancient times, the sanctuary of Poseidon was located here and the Panhellenic Isthymia Games were held once every two years. The ruins of the temple of Poseidon, which is currently considered one of the three most significant temples of the god of the seas in the world, the remains of Roman baths, and a small museum with found artifacts have survived to this day.
