The east coast of Sri Lanka is unique because it varies in length and stretches along the coastline for more than 300 km.
The climate in the east of Sri Lanka is hot and humid. Unlike the west coast, the east has 2 distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. In the west, these seasons are also present, but the difference in weather during these seasons is not as great as in the case of the east coast of Sri Lanka.
In the period from October to April, the northeast monsoon prevails on the east coast, which brings strong winds and heavy rainfall.
In the period from May to September in the east of Sri Lanka, the weather is quite dry, rains are extremely rare. But at the same time, the weather here is very hot with a high level of humidity.
