Beruwela, located on the west coast of Sri Lanka, has retained its charm as a small fishing village even though it has grown into a thriving resort in the past few years. Here, early in the morning, you can see the fresh catch being unloaded from brightly colored fishing boats, stroll through the local market and feel a little part of the measured way of life of the natives. And then you can go to the center and see a completely different Beruvel with a lively main street, on which there are many shops, kiosks, restaurants and other attributes of the resort town.
But most of all, Beruwela is famous for its beaches, because it is from here that 130 kilometers of coastline begin, as if created for an ideal beach holiday. If you are lucky, you can see sea turtles near the shore and "chat" with these slow but very gentle creatures.
And this beach is chosen by lovers and romantic photo sessions and wedding ceremonies are often held here.
