Dickwella is a little secret of the South Coast.
This absolutely magical beach is located in a rather large picturesque bay next to the fishing village of Dickwella, which, in fact, gave the name of the beach.
Dickwella (the name means "long bridge") is a coastal town 22 km east of Matara. Dickwella is not mentioned in any of the old guidebooks, because this resort began to attract visitors only in the last decade, after the first hotels appeared here.
Although Dickwella's main focus is on beach life and surfing, there are plenty of places of interest close to this resort. For example, you can drive from Dickwella to the famous tea and rubber plantations, the market town of Matara and Yala National Park with its fascinating wildlife. But these are only some of the sights that can be seen in the Dickwella area.
