Skole lies in a quiet, windless valley, surrounded on all sides by mountains: from the west - the town of Korchanka (1180 m), from the east - Chudylova (670 m), behind it - Zelemin (1177 m), in the south you can see the ridge of Kyivets (1064 m ) and Kremyana mountain (1137 m). Part of these mountains belongs to the Skolivski Beskydy National Park. The absolute heights of the Skolivska Valley are 440-446 m above sea level.
The dense river network formed by the tributaries of the Stryi and Opir rivers makes this area particularly attractive for summer tourism. Skole is the starting point of many tourist routes. In particular, marked hiking routes have been laid from here to Lopata, Parashka, to waterfalls on the Kamyanka River, in the Svyatoslav tract.
It was first mentioned in historical documents in 1397. But people lived here much earlier, as evidenced by archaeological findings. An important trade route to Transcarpathia passed through Skole long ago.
Skolivski Beskydy National Nature Park
Skolivski Beskydy is a small area of the Eastern Carpathians, which is distinguished by its unique flora and fauna.
In order to preserve, reproduce and rationally use the natural territorial complexes of this region, the national nature park "Skolivski Beskydy" was created on February 1, 1999
