Shayan is a village in the Khust district of the Zakarpattia region. Here is the "Shayan" resort, where carbonated mineral waters are used for treatment. The distance from the district center of Khust is 17 km.
The healing springs of Marmarosh have been known since ancient times, the first reports of mineral springs on the southeastern outskirts of the village. Vyshkovo, appeared as early as 1753. It is also known that in 1818 one of the oldest and most famous fountains of the Marmara County - "Castle Fountain" - was created on the basis of carbonated hydrocarbonate iron mineral waters. A rest house was opened here in 1952, and a sanatorium in 1957.
"Shayanska" mineral water is close to "Borjomi", "Yesentuka" and "Vichy-Celeston" mineral waters (France) in terms of the general composition of hydrocarbons, but it belongs to the Dilijansky type due to the presence of metasilicic acid in its composition.
In the vicinity of the village, at a distance of 1 km, there is a lake where you can swim, ride a boat or catamaran.
In winter, ski lifts operate in the region - a 300-meter-long one on the territory of Shayan, an 800-meter-long one in the neighboring village of Velyatino.
