Among the picturesque mountains is one of the most beautiful villages of the Khust district - the village of Velyatino.
It belongs to the foothill zone. From the southern outskirts of the village stretches the Oash ridge, which belongs to the southeastern part of the Vygorlat-Hutyn volcanic ridge, in particular to the Tupiy Gutyn massif, the height of which is 878 meters above sea level. The northern outskirts of the village is the floodplain of the Tisza River.
In ancient times, the picturesque mountains of the local area were covered with lush primeval forests and densely populated with various species of wild animals and birds. Today, the flora and fauna around Velyatino, as well as in the whole of Zakarpattia, is significantly impoverished. Oak, beech, linden, ash, hornbeam grow mainly in forests. Wild cherry trees and various berry bushes are often found on the slopes of the mountains. The herbal flora includes several hundred species of plants. Forests are rich in mushrooms - boletus, chanterelles, boletus, and so on.
There are several mineral and thermal springs on the territory of the village. An interesting natural phenomenon is local sources of fresh water. For example, at an altitude of 621 m on the flat terrain of the mountain, a spring of fresh water comes to the surface, which the people of Velyatia named the man's well. Pansky's well is located on the neutral strip of the border with Romania. In addition to the lord's well, the Lemach well in the Churguv Mountains and the Pint well have been known for a long time.
Mineral springs are located in the area of Ignatievske, Oleksynets, Solotvino mountains, and one - Fetkova Kupil - in the village itself.
In Velyatino, for the purpose of recreation, study of the history and traditions of the region, recovery and treatment, it is worth:
- follow the path, hiking route, Pinti caves - the robber Veleta; to find the Pinty well;
- climb Mount Chabrin, from which, according to legend, the bandit Pintya fired a shot and destroyed the castle in the city of Khust;
- to see the mass belated flowering of snowdrops in the middle of March-April on the top of the mountain "Gharkai", behind Kalinichovo Laz;
- on the slopes of Mount Kruglyak, in the "White Stone" tract, see the place of volcanic tuffs;
- to see the only village stream, paved with flow stones by hand, during Veliatino's stay as part of Czechoslovakia, which flows through the entire village;
- on the western slope of the Shiroky Verkh mountain - visit the Veliki Lazky lake, the basin of which has a stepped relief;
- on the highest point of Shiroky Verkh mountain - Chuva mountain - a ten-meter lone giant - a memorial pillar on the border lane, which was built by the residents of the village of Velyatino in the first half of the 20th century, carrying cement and gravel on their backs;
- visit one of the festivals in the village of Velyatino: Pintya fest, festival of shearers, rock festival;
- a vacation in Velyatino in winter involves skiing, for these purposes there are 2 ski lifts, the length of the downhill track for adults is more than 1000 m, for children - 200 m.
The thermal pool in Velyatino is equipped for year-round bathing. It is used to treat the following diseases:
