Montenegro officially declares end of coronavirus epidemic
The Institute of Public Health emphasized that no new coronavirus infections had been detected in the country for the last 28 days. And all the sick have already recovered. According to WHO rules, this means that the COVID-19 epidemic has ended in Montenegro. Montenegro became the first country in Europe to be free of the COVID-19 virus.
However, the recommendations of the Institute of Public Health are mandatory for application. Among them are social distancing, hand washing, wearing protective masks indoors if the distance between people does not exceed two meters.
Since June 1, the Montenegrin authorities have allowed entry into the country for tourists from 130 countries. Airports in Tivat and Podgorica can accept tourists from countries where the coronavirus incidence rate is less than 25 people per 100,000 population.
Entry to Montenegro is allowed for residents of Germany, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Albania, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, and other countries. Citizens and residents (temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit) of these countries can enter Montenegro without tests and quarantine, provided they are entering from a country that also meets the criterion. Montenegro is also accessible to residents of Serbia, but they must have a negative test result for the virus, taken no later than 72 hours ago.
For citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain, entry currently remains closed.
