Attention! New rules for tourists and residents of Egypt.
From 07.01.2025, new rules for tourists and residents of Egypt came into force:
For tourists:
- If a tourist received a Sinai stamp and stayed in Egypt for more than 15 days, he faces a fine of 7020 pounds (about $140).
- If a tourist has issued a visa and overstayed, the fine will also be 7020 Egyptian pounds (about $140).
For residents of Egypt:
- If a resident of Egypt has overstayed by more than three months, then a fine must be paid upon departure. For every three months of delay, 500 Egyptian pounds are added until the day of departure (fine of 7020 pounds after visa expiration + 500 pounds for every three months of delay).
Exceptions:
- Children and pensioners are not charged fines.
