Security situation in Egypt's resorts
According to information from our partners in Egypt, the safety of tourists vacationing in the Red Sea resorts (Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh) is currently not threatened. The country's authorities are taking all necessary security measures, the situation in the resorts is stable and controlled, and all tourist infrastructure continues to operate as usual.
Due to the war in Israel, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that their officials are establishing intensive contacts at all levels to curb the current crisis in the region and prevent further tension and the situation from getting out of control. Egypt continues its efforts to secure the release of captives.
Egypt shares a border with Gaza, but like Israel, it keeps it closed, only occasionally allowing humanitarian aid shipments through.
Sharm El Sheikh resort, which is most often chosen by our tourists for their holiday, is located in the far south of the Sinai Peninsula. It is separated from the border by more than 400 km.
Currently, all flights from European countries to Egypt are operating without changes. Daily, the airports of Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh continue to receive numerous flights from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Moldova, and the Baltic countries. All tourists continue to vacation in the coastal resorts and go on excursions within the country.
Partners keep the situation under control. Flight routes are currently assessed as safe for travel and do not pass near the zone of military action.
We are closely monitoring the unfolding events in the region and will inform you of any changes.
We express our sincere condolences to all those affected by the horrific terrorist attacks in Israel.
We ask tourists to remain calm, listen only to information from official channels, and follow the recommendations of the countries of departure regarding their stay in Egypt.
