Nessebar is a small ancient settlement located on a peninsula measuring 850 by 300 meters. It was once a large medieval settlement, but a terrible earthquake occurred and half the island went under water. However, life is not bad here now, because today every street, house and temple in this area is under the patronage of UNESCO.
Nessebar in Bulgaria is a city with a 3000-year history. In contrast to young resorts, which are completely built up by tourist complexes, there is a lot to see here. The old quarter is narrow cobbled streets, small cozy squares and archaic wooden houses of the Renaissance. Unusual Thracian, Roman and Greek ruins, ancient churches (more than forty!), mills and impressive fortresses can be seen on the local streets. By the way, there is only one way to get to the mainland from here: via a single bridge.
If you go for a walk, be sure to walk by the fortress wall of ancient times, look into one of the colorful souvenir shops and look at religious monuments, for example, the figure of Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors.
If you love old things, take a look at the Ethnographic Museum, visit the Byzantine Baths and admire the sunset from the Amphitheater. By the way, you can listen to live music here in the evenings. If your memories of different trips have already merged into one long film about blue horizons, buy tickets to Nessebar. It is so different from others that it will definitely become a real gem in your treasury of impressions.
The price of a ticket to Nessebar depends on which accommodation you expect. Hotels, villas, apartments - there are options for every taste and wallet. Many hotels offer accommodation with meals, but if you want to have an additional snack, just go outside - original restaurants are here at every turn. There is:
Products can also be bought in local supermarkets and at the market. Tours to Bulgaria, Nessebar, with full board can be bought at "Alf" at an affordable price (departure - from Kyiv).
Tours to Bulgaria, Nessebar are bought by both young people and pensioners, because there are various beaches here: in the Old Town there are shell and stone beaches, and in the New Town - sandy. The coast is always very clean, but entrance to the shore is free, and sunbeds can be rented everywhere. There will also be a place for people with towels and their own umbrellas.
The best solution for families with children is the "Southern" coastal zone. There is a very gentle shore and there is a children's area. Nearby is a shady, unequipped beach that adjoins the city park. Adults will like "North" - there are rocky areas at the bottom, but the depth increases quite quickly.
When to go? In summer, the average water temperature is +24, air +27, and the season lasts until the end of September.
There are many playgrounds, as well as an amusement park and water park Aqua Paradise - the largest in the country. During your vacation, you can also go out to sea on a pirate ship! The program of the walk includes a treasure hunt, contests, sea battle and friendly drinking (non-alcoholic drinks). Do not forget to take the children to the permanent film exhibition - the "cinematic" exhibits here allow you to touch them with your hands.
A direct flight from Kyiv is not possible, but you can get there from the airports of nearby Varna and Burgas by bus #11 (every 40 minutes during the day) or by train.
