Pineda de Mar is a popular resort town located on the Costa del Maresme coast between Barcelona and Girona. It is famous for its many kilometers of beaches with silver sand, washed by the blue waves of the Mediterranean Sea.
Initially, Pineda de Mar was a small fishing village, but when in the mid-20th century the rich people of Barcelona began to build up the coast with private villas, the first hotels for wealthy vacationers began to appear here. At the end of the century, tourism spread widely along the coast, many new hotels of various accommodation classes were built - now people with different wealth and various interests rest here.
