It captivates with the diversity of its landscapes: high mountain forests and green valleys, snow-capped mountains, steep cliffs above the sea and wide beaches. Tenerife is the largest of the seven islands that make up the Canary archipelago. It captivates with the diversity of its landscapes: high mountain forests and green valleys, snow-capped mountains, steep cliffs above the sea and wide beaches.

The northern half of the island is characterized by a humid climate. This is why you can observe a large amount of diverse vegetation here: nature is saturated with greenery, a riot of colors. In the north of Tenerife there are large beautiful forests, many palm groves, gardens with exotic fruits. Here you can see a variety of greenery: from cactus to almond trees that are actively bearing fruit.

The largest resort in the northern half of Tenerife is Puerto de la Cruz. The least precipitation is observed in June, and the most in November. According to the graph below, you can get a general impression of the temperature regime of the north throughout the year.

The southern part of Tenerife does not differ much from the northern part in terms of its climate. But it, of course, has its own characteristics.

  • there is little greenery, and it is as diverse as in the north;
  • the southern cities of Tenerife are quite young, there are no ancient architectural objects;
  • in the south there is a large concentration of 5-star hotels and comfortable apartments for a full rest;
  • south of Tenerife is a variety of expensive hotels, clubs, entertainment venues;
  • very warm ocean water (in principle, like in the north of the island);
  • south of Tenerife boasts a chic water park;
  • many beaches with white sand (it was specially imported from Africa and covered with it on black natural beaches, so the beaches look yellowish-dark);
  • strong south winds contributed to the creation of the famous resort for wind and kite surfers - El Medano;
  • south of Tenerife is a great place for a beach holiday (both for young people and for the whole family);

Comfortable beaches are equipped with large breakwaters. You can swim even in a storm. Tenerife is the only European resort where you can sunbathe and swim in the ocean, regardless of the calendar month and season. for relaxation, you will like it everywhere. Moreover, by driving you can get from the northern half to the southern half in just 50 minutes, enjoying the magnificent views.
