Torrevieja

The city of Torrevieja is one of the largest cities in the province of Alicante, which is part of the Valencian Community. The nearest large city of Alicante is 50 km away, and the airport is less than 40 km away.

Climate

The uniqueness of this resort area is that in winter the temperature does not drop below 10-12 degrees, and in summer it is kept within 25 degrees. Locals say that they have two seasons - summer and winter, and indeed the rain does not last more than 2 days, and the sun shines more than 320 days a year. From the south and north, the city is protected by mountains and foothills, so there is absolutely no frost in Torrevieja, but at the same time there can be snow literally 30-40 km away. Also, in Torrevieja there is no scorching heat above 30 degrees, as in many southern cities. The city grew up practically on a plain, as the nearest mountains are just over 20 km away, and the suburbs of Torrevieja stretch from the city center for another 10 km in all directions.

Infrastructure

In the city you can find many restaurants, cafes and small snack bars, where you can enjoy a wide variety of dishes of different cuisines: from traditional Mediterranean to Asian, and even Russian. The city of Torrevieja lives 24 hours a day: there are a large number of nightclubs, bowling centers, discos and an amusement park. Torrevieja has a large sports complex with Olympic-level infrastructure, there are various fitness centers, football and basketball courts, tennis courts, rugby fields, a golf club and a yacht club, as well as the Aquapolis water park with an area of ​​​​90 square kilometers.

Best Beaches

• Playa del Cura. This is the most popular city beach in Torrevieja, the leader among most tourists. This is a large sandy beach where you can have a great time with the whole family. There is a promenade near the beach, where you can find many bars, shops and restaurants. 
• Playa Los Locos. This is a large sandy beach, located a little north of Playa del Cura. If you like swimming in calm waters, we recommend early morning or evening. This beach is also very popular with tourists and locals.
• Playa Los Naufragos. This is a central beach, located within easy reach of the city center of Torrevieja. Here you can enjoy sports activities. During the summer months, Los Náufragos is visited by about 8,000 people per day.
• Playa del Asecion. Located next to Los Naufragos, it is an ideal place for children, as the water here is always calm and shallow. The beach is protected from strong waves by a yacht parking lot.
• La Mata. The largest beach in Torrevieja and a great place for both family holidays and water sports enthusiasts. The northernmost of Torrevieja's beaches, this fabulous beach is over 2,500 meters long. La Mata Beach has several equipped beach volleyball courts and even a beach soccer field.
