Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost emirate in the UAE, located between the picturesque Hajar Mountains in the east and the Persian Gulf in the west. Now Ras al-Khaimah is actively developing the tourism industry and is becoming an increasingly popular destination among tourists, attracting good prices and quality hotels. The Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah was the last of all seven to join the UAE state. About 100,000 Arabs live here - citizens of the country, that is, 30% of the population of the emirate. This is a record high concentration of citizens among all emirates, usually only 10% of them.
Despite the location in the north of the country, the weather and beach season here are the same as in other emirates. There is no public transport system in the city. Buses go only to other emirates and to other cities and villages in Ras Al Khaimah. You will have to take a taxi to move around the city. Drinking alcohol in public places is punishable by a fine or even imprisonment. Alcohol can be consumed in hotel bars. There are several shops in the city that sell alcohol. The most popular among tourists: Al Hamra Cellar, JMK Cellars, The Cellars RAK, African + Eastern.
The emirate of Ras al-Khaimah has its own water park, it is called Ice land Waterpark. A visit to Ice land Waterpark will cost much cheaper than to water parks in Dubai. The water park is stylized under the theme "beyond the Arctic Circle" - snow, ice, penguins, polar bears, etc. On hot summer days, when the temperature is close to +40, this environment is even refreshing.
There are four main malls in the emirate: Manar Mall, RAK Mall, Al Hamra Mall and Safeer Mall. Manar Mall is the most popular among tourists, with about 120 shops, a children's entertainment center and a cinema. In addition to shopping malls, you can find entire shopping districts in the city. In the Old City, there is the Old Souq, where small shops are sold, as is customary in the Arab tradition. Al-Nakhil is called "little India", it is not a market, but a whole district of the city, where there are many small shops with Indian goods.
Jeep safaris in the desert, hot air balloon rides, ATV rides, diving and fishing are arranged for tourists.
