Two facts that you should first know about the city of Kosiv in the Ivano-Frankivsk region - in 2001 it was granted the status of a historical city, and in 2004 its status was changed to a "resort city". This is quite enough to understand - it is worth going there on vacation and getting acquainted with the rich culture of Prykarpattia.
Kosiv is most famous for its ceramics, which is considered one of the best, and the age-old experience of its creation is passed down from the masters to their students in more than one generation. Kosovo ceramics have been included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Artistic Heritage of Humanity. The decision was made in Bogotá, Colombia.
Western Ukraine is famous for its art schools, of which there are many in this glorious city. The best conditions have been created here for lovers of eco-holiday, because Kosiv regularly ranks among the top ten cities with the largest number of green spaces per capita.
From a historical point of view, the city is interesting because it is located practically in the very center of Hutsul Oblast, and it was here that most of the historical events related to the activities of the rebels under the leadership of Oleksa Dovbush took place. The status of a resort town had a significant impact on the infrastructure of the region, which made it possible for every tourist to get the appropriate level of comfort here and get to know the historical, religious and cultural sights of the region.
