Vyshhorod is an ancient city mentioned for the first time in the Tale of Bygone Years. But it is not only a landmark historical, but also an industrial center of Ukraine. The most recent history of Vyshgorod began with the construction of the Kyiv HPP here.
On the main square of Vyshgorod stands a monument to princes Boris and Hleb - saints who are buried on these lands. A church was built in their honor in 1863, which is still one of the monuments of the city. According to legend, the relics of the saints were hidden in a well near the church.
Thanks to the so-called Kyiv Sea, a large part of the life of the city takes place on the embankment. Not only are picnics, swimming and sunbathing here, the embankment is a great place for various festivals and parties.
If you want to learn the history of the city, visit the Vyshgorod Historical and Cultural Reserve, which consists of the Historical and Archaeological Museums, and the Pottery Museum. The fund of the institution consists of a huge number of ancient and truly unique things from the times of Kyivan Rus.
