Cambrils is known as one of the most important gastronomic centers on the Costa Dorada. The reason for this is the oldest tradition of various catering establishments, from fishing taverns that appeared here at the beginning of the 20th century to modern restaurants recognized by gourmets in Spain and the whole world.
The origins of the traditional cuisine of Cambrils, which has made it practically the gastronomic capital of the entire coast, lie in the so-called "floating taverns", located right on fishing boats. They prepare food from fresh, just caught fish and seafood. Also, the gastronomic traditions of Cambrils appeared thanks to the only School of Hotel Management and Tourism in the province.
The main "suppliers" of products for cooking are the land and the sea. If we take agronomy, then we are talking about citrus fruits, artichokes, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini and so on. Almost everything from seafood is used.
